Day 15: Lyla's first birthday card

Alas! Today we chose one of Heather's cards (we all contribute to our 'idea box' and they are chosen at random everyday.) It's approaching baby Lyla's first birthday, and with babies on the brain, we designed a first birthday card. (Heather hates illustration and I hate stationery; these are hard for me!)

Day 14: 2-Color Zombie Awareness Poster

Today's challenge was to design a 2-color zombie awareness poster, in light of the fact that I feel many of our challenges have been overly 'girlie'. Holly came up with something completely new and original, and Heather illustrated her hatred for fake icky things. It turns out, in the end, that yes, we are definitely an office full of ladies.

Day 13: Peanut Butter and Jellyfish

Today we are keeping it simple: the challenge was to design a jellyfish. Enjoy!

Day 12: Self-portrait

Happy Monday! Today we were supposed to illustrate a self-portrait. It was also a prime example of how much I hate to draw faces and how much Heather has been playing Wii. Holly also put her new kitten there as well!

Day 11: 'Type' of Shoe...

Today's challenge was to design a shoe out of letters (the original plan was to make it out of words... but time permitting, this was easier!)

Day 10: How are you feeling?

Today we were supposed to pick a word describing how we were feeling at that moment, then use a font that shows that feeling. Heather was feeling both nostalgic and proud of her little Lyla, and I was feeling a tad feisty. Enjoy!

Day 9: The Banjos

Today's challenge was to design a theoretical cd cover for the fake band "the banjos". (Album title: Two-Steppin'). This one was good because we all ended up taking very different directions. Yes, one of those directions included Google... I'll let you guess which one :) (BAD HEATHER! Even though that cat is kind of the cutest....)

Day 8: The Umlaut

So today's challenge sparked from having an office right next to a very well-known unnamed apartment building. This particular building has all sorts of Bavarian-type designs on the side, and is, well, special. These were our solutions to the problem! (I feel I missed the mark on this one... but hey, it's only a 10-minute challenge! Way to go Heather I like yours :)

Day 7: Fido, organic dog food

Today's challenge was to design a logo for Fido, an organic dog food company. I am super proud of Heather and I; we're changing it up a bit! Heather took a more modern approach, and I took the hippy-in-a-kitchen route... either way, today was fun! This is beginning to be a great start to our day.

Day 6: Stencil Flowers

First of all, I would like to say WELCOME to our new design intern, Holly! We have officially christened her into our daily design challenge with today's theme: creating an organic 'stencil' shape. (Alright, so we mostly all cheated and used multiple colors, but hey! It's our rules, and we'll change them as we wish!)

Day 5: Color it up!

Today's challenge was to illustrate a color. I think it's becoming increasingly transparent that we are in fact girlie girls. Who'd have thought?

Day 4: Quickfire Logo

Today's challenge was to design a personal identity using your name and something you enjoy. Heather chose a lemon drop, and I chose knitting. Enjoy!

Day 3: A veggie a day...

Alright. New challenge. Heather and I have decided to throw all of our ideas into a barrel, and choose one at random... today was one of mine (again, poor Heather doesn't much like illustrating-- but again, it's rather cute!) but fun nonetheless. Today's challenge was to make a veggie-character. (Heather: sleepy pea, Sara: happy broccoli)

Day 2: Monster Challenge

Today's challenge was to design a monster, to spark a bit of creative silliness. Heather had a bit of a rough time with this one because she tends to stick with more realistic designs over random ones... but I think she did quite well! Mine resembles a bit of a dinosaur-duck, but today was still a lot of fun regardless. (Tomorrow is Heather's pick-- uh oh!)

Day 1: Starting our day the healthy way

Hi and welcome to our daily dose of creativity! This week our self-challenge was creating a picture and a pattern using the Garamond font family. Gotta get the morning going somehow! (Heather - bike, Sara - teapot)
